All lessons emphasize basic horsemanship, balance seat, safety and having fun.
BEGINNER RIDER: This level teaches the student safe horse handling and riding. The student will learn parts of the horse and tack, approaching, leading, grooming, saddling and bridling the horse. Mounting and dismounting, basic seat and hand positions, basic horse control, beginning the trot and having fun playing games on horseback
INTERMEDIATE RIDER: This level continues safe horse handling and riding. The student will learn about different horse breeds, coloring and markings, basic gaits of the horse, horse terms and balance of horse and rider. Control of the horse at a walk and trot on the rail as well as schooling patterns, obstacles, and game patterns. Introduction to different riding styles and trail riding.
INTERMEDIATE RIDER ll: This level continues safe horse handling and riding. These lessons will be customized to fit the interests of the student. The student will learn about leg, seat and voice aids, improving their seat and balance, riding bareback and learning to lope or canter. Control at a walk, trot and lope/canter on the rail as well as schooling patterns and games will be emphasized.
ADVANCED RIDER: This level continues safe horse handling and riding. Lessons will be customized to fit the interest and needs of the student.
Horses and tack are provided for all lessons. All lessons are one hour long.
Hard soled shoes/boots with a heel and long pants must be worn. Helmets are required for riders under 18 years old and will be provided if you do not have your own.
